Kitchener Ontario

 Kitchener is a city of Ontario located in  Waterloo Regional Municipality almost 100 km west of Toronto.

Elementary and High Schools

Kitchener has many public high schools including Kitchener Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School. These schools are the oldest schools of Kitchener founded in 1855. They are situated in King Street in the north of city. They are not far from Waterloo’s boundary. A school of pharmacy was opened by University of Waterloo in downtown area.

This city has contributed 30 million dollars for establishment of UW Downtown Kitchener School of Pharmacy from 110 million dollars investment fund of economic development. Construction of this school was started in 2006 but the program of pharmacy was launched in 2008 with 92 students. Doon neighbourhood (part of Kitchener) is home of primary campus of Conestoga College which is one of the earliest non university educational institutions of its province. It is interesting to know, Conestoga College remained in the topmost ranking of Ontario colleges for nine consecutive years.

Hospitals 

Hospital services in Kitchener, Ontario are provided by Grand River Hospital. This hospital consists of St. Mary’s General Hospital and a Freeport campus. Both campuses are situated in Kitchener as well as in Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Numerous facilities including long term care bed facility are provided. Grand River Hospital has provided the facility of 574 beds. Two hospitals of Kitchener are included in the topmost 10 safest hospitals of Canada.

Public Parks and Community Centers 

Victoria Park is the oldest outdoor park situated in the heart of the downtown Kitchener. A number of festivals and events are organized in this park every year. This park has a cast-bronze statue of Queen Victoria along with the cannon. This statue was unveiled on Queen’s birthday in May 1911 after 10 years of her death. There was a need of 6,000$ for monument of The Princess of Wales Chapter of Imperial Order of Daughters. This city has wide and guarded community trail system. Trails which can be controlled and managed by city are approximately 100 kilometers long. A number of community trails and routes border the shore of river due to the close proximity of Kitchener with the Grand River. Easy access to Grand River has captivated nature attracting tourists to Kitchener. Its trails and natural areas are funded by city council of Kitchener. However, some trails are not managed properly. 

Real estate fact

Housing market of this city is reported to be a highly sold market in June along with many new homes being sold. There were 25 housing markets of Canada having such high percentage either considered to be seller, balanced or buyer’s market. The regions which scored more than 60 percent were regarded as the seller’s markets. Waterloo region scored 73 percent and is the best seller market. In short, the housing market of Kitchener is ranked as the most competitive selling housing market within Canada.
